About the model

Brühl Roro Small – compact and convertible

Roro Small is the small size of the Roro, yet it is fully convertible. It was designed by Roland Meyer-Brühl and has been in Brühl’s range since 1998. According to Brühl, even a single multifunctional armchair offers all the versatility typical of Roro. Its seat swivels through 90 degrees and swings forward to form a lying surface, and the armrests and backrests are infinitely adjustable. Two of these armchairs side by side make a two-seat sofa. The covers are removable and renewable.

Roro Small two-seater in grey and blue fabric

This Roro Small is covered in grey and blue fabric. The two-seater consists of two pieces that form the sofa when placed together and can also be set up separately if needed. Together, grey and blue look fresh without being loud. It is made for small living rooms, studies or guest rooms where every centimetre counts. It is one of a kind.

Seating comfort and space

For the Roro Small armchair, specialist retailers quote an upholstery core of polyurethane foam and a seat depth of 50 cm. The seat height of 42 cm is within the usual range. Placed together, the two-seater needs around 1.6 m of wall space and 85 cm of depth. Lowered armrests add 50 cm to the width, and in the lying position it extends almost two metres into the room. Leave 60 to 80 cm clear in front of it.

Functions and additions

Each of the two seats swivels through 90 degrees by hand and swings forward all the way into the lying position. In the range, two multifunctional armchairs side by side form a lying surface of 130 × 189 cm. A table module can connect two armchairs and can also be ordered later. Castors at the back of the base are available for all Roro models.

Caring for the fabric cover

Vacuum the fabric regularly with a soft upholstery nozzle, including the gap between the two pieces. Dab stains immediately with a light-coloured, damp cloth. Direct sunlight can bleach blue over time. The covers are removable and, depending on the fabric, are dry-cleaned or washed on a gentle cycle at up to 30 °C, without tumble-drying.

Why buy a pre-owned Brühl Roro Small?

The Roro has existed since 1998, and Brühl still builds it in Bad Steben today. The family business has been manufacturing there with a lot of handwork since 1948. A pre-owned Roro Small can be used for a long time and adapted: the fittings can be replaced, the upholstery renewed, and replacement covers are available through specialist retailers. This piece has been inspected in eight stations.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Roro Medium and the Roro Small?

The Roro Medium is the larger version, while the Roro Small is the compact one for rooms with little floor space. According to Brühl, the Small takes up very little room yet still converts into a bed in no time. Both sizes are available in the classic, spring and soft versions.

Which upholstery versions are available for the Roro?

Brühl makes the Roro in the classic, spring and soft versions. The classic version offers firmer seating comfort and a smooth, slim contour. The spring version has an integrated pocket spring core and an elastic, springy feel, while the soft version has softer upholstery and looks opulent thanks to its full padding.

How do you remove the cover of the Roro?

Undo the hook-and-loop strips along the lower edges and fold the hem outwards. Cover the hooks of the tape with loop tape so that they do not damage anything. Then pull the cover off starting from one corner, and later put it back on in reverse order.

Can you sit on the Roro’s lowered armrests?

It is better not to. Brühl sees folded-out armrests as an extension of the lying surface or as a footrest, not as a seat. Anyone who regularly puts their full body weight on them risks damaging the mechanism.

What is the footstool in the Roro range for?

The footstool complements a sofa, armchair or corner arrangement as a footrest or an extra seat. According to the dimension sheet, it measures 75 × 75 cm for the Roro Medium and 65 × 65 cm for the Roro Small. Brühl offers it in the classic, spring and soft versions.

Can the cushions or upholstery of the Roro be replaced?

Yes. According to Brühl, loose seat cushions and similar parts can be ordered individually. Cushion fillings are available as spare parts, and the upholstery of every Brühl model can be replaced while the frame stays.

Can I see the piece before buying?

Yes – the piece is at Warehouse Hamburg. Viewing by appointment, or alternatively by video call.

About the brand

All Brühl in stock

The family firm Brühl has made upholstered furniture in Bad Steben, Upper Franconia, since 1948. Many of its sofas adjust or transform, and numerous designs are by Roland Meyer-Brühl: on the Roro (since 1998) the arms and back adjust continuously, while on the Moule (since 2003) two swivel seats convert into loungers or a sleeping surface in a few movements. Frames are made from solid beech, and each complete cover is sewn by one person. Kati Meyer-Brühl has been creative director since 2008.
