About the model
Brühl Roro Small – compact armchair
Roro Small is the compact size of the Roro. Roland Meyer-Brühl designed the range, and Brühl has been building it since 1998. It includes sofas, corner sofas, multifunctional armchairs, intermediate elements, longchairs and recliners that can be combined in many ways. Typical of Roro are swivel seats and infinitely adjustable armrests and backrests. The small size is also available in the classic, spring and soft versions. The covers can be removed and renewed. Brühl calls the Roro models timeless classics.
Roro Small armchair in beige leather – floor model
This slim armchair in the Roro Small size is covered in beige leather. It was a floor model and was never used in a home. At 64 cm wide, it fits next to a sofa, in a reading corner or in a bedroom. The light beige looks friendly and combines well with wood and shades of grey. Next to a Roro sofa, it picks up the sofa’s clean lines. It is one of a kind.
Seating comfort and space
On the Roro Small, the seating comfort depends on the version: classic is firmer, spring has more bounce, and soft is softer. With a seat height of 43 cm, you sit at the usual height. The armchair needs only around 0.64 m of width and 85 cm of depth. This means it also fits into alcoves and narrow corners. Allow about 60 cm of space to move in front of it.
Elements and additions
The Roro Small range includes multifunctional armchairs whose seat can be swung forward to form a lying surface of 65 × 189 cm. There are also sofas, longchairs, recliners and a footstool measuring 65 × 65 cm. Two multifunctional armchairs side by side form a sofa. For all Roro models, Brühl offers two castors at the back of the base on request.
Caring for the leather cover
Light leather needs a little more attention. Dark, freshly dyed clothing such as jeans can transfer colour onto beige. Wipe away dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and dab stains immediately. Once or twice a year, care for the leather with a suitable product. Avoid direct sunlight and spots close to radiators. The cover is removable.
Why a Brühl Roro Small floor model?
This Roro Small was only on display. It was made in Bad Steben, where Brühl has been building seating furniture with a high proportion of handwork since 1948. Each complete cover is sewn there by a single person. Brühl can renew the upholstery and covers later on. This piece has been inspected in eight stations.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Roro Medium and the Roro Small?
The Roro Medium is the larger version, while the Roro Small is the compact one for rooms with little floor space. According to Brühl, the Small takes up very little room yet still converts into a bed in no time. Both sizes are available in the classic, spring and soft versions.
Which upholstery versions are available for the Roro?
Brühl makes the Roro in the classic, spring and soft versions. The classic version offers firmer seating comfort and a smooth, slim contour. The spring version has an integrated pocket spring core and an elastic, springy feel, while the soft version has softer upholstery and looks opulent thanks to its full padding.
Can occasional tables be added to the Roro later?
Yes. Brühl offers decorative occasional tables for the Roro, which can also be fitted at a later date. With the multifunctional armchairs, a table module can connect two armchairs; this module can also be ordered later.
What should you do about a stain on the Roro’s leather cover?
Act quickly: dab up liquid with an absorbent, light-coloured cloth without rubbing. Then go over it with a slightly damp cloth and let the leather air-dry, never with a hairdryer or on a radiator. For stubborn stains, a specialist leather care company can help.
Can you change the Roro’s cover, for example from leather to fabric?
Yes. You can order replacement covers through specialist retailers or Brühl’s customer service, and for models with removable covers also in a different material. Where a cover consists of several parts, individual parts can be replaced as long as the fabric or leather is still available.
Can the cushions or upholstery of the Roro be replaced?
Yes. According to Brühl, loose seat cushions and similar parts can be ordered individually. Cushion fillings are available as spare parts, and the upholstery of every Brühl model can be replaced while the frame stays.
Can I see the piece before buying?
Yes – the piece is at Warehouse Hamburg. Viewing by appointment, or alternatively by video call.
The family firm Brühl has made upholstered furniture in Bad Steben, Upper Franconia, since 1948. Many of its sofas adjust or transform, and numerous designs are by Roland Meyer-Brühl: on the Roro (since 1998) the arms and back adjust continuously, while on the Moule (since 2003) two swivel seats convert into loungers or a sleeping surface in a few movements. Frames are made from solid beech, and each complete cover is sewn by one person. Kati Meyer-Brühl has been creative director since 2008.
