Brühl Moule – sofa and guest bed in one

Whether you are watching TV together, reading alone or putting up guests, the Moule adapts. Both seats of the two-seater are swivel seats. Turn a seat 90 degrees and the armrest comes to the front and can be lowered to form a footrest. The backrest follows, infinitely adjustable down to horizontal, and you adjust the headrests separately. This creates loungers or a sleeping surface. Brühl has been making the Moule since 2003 to a design by Roland Meyer-Brühl.

Moule two-seater in grey fabric – floor model

This two-seater from the Moule series has a grey fabric cover and a sleep function. It was on display in a showroom and was never used in a home. Day to day, it is a sofa for two; for guests, it becomes a bed. It suits homes with no space for a separate guest bed. The understated grey can be combined with almost any wall colour. It is one of a kind.

Seating comfort and space

For the Moule, Brühl relies on a base of sinuous springs and layers of high-density foam, with a soft layer of wadding on top. The seat holds its shape, while the surface gives softly. The seat height of 42 cm is within the usual range. At 1.8 m wide and 90 cm deep, the sofa also fits into smaller rooms. Leave around 60 to 80 cm clear in front. In the lying position, a Moule two-seater grows by up to 60 cm in width and 44 cm in depth, according to the current dimension sheet.

Functions and additions

The sleep function uses both swivel seats: turn them into the lounge position, lower the armrests as footrests and lay the backrests flat. Everything is done by hand in a few simple movements. The sofa can be complemented with an armchair, footstool or longchair from the series. For models with removable covers such as the Moule, Brühl makes replacement covers, in other colours too.

Caring for the fabric cover

Vacuum off dust with the upholstery nozzle, ideally once a week. Treat stains straight away: dab with water and a light-coloured cloth, do not rub. The cover is removable and, depending on the fabric quality, can be washed or dry-cleaned. When removing it, Brühl advises covering the hook strips with loop tape so that the fabric is not damaged.

Why a Brühl Moule floor model?

The Moule is not a short-lived model: Brühl has been making it since 2003 and keeps covers, padding and fittings replaceable. As a floor model, this sofa was on show but never used in a home. Brühl has been manufacturing in Bad Steben since 1948, with design and production at its own headquarters. We have inspected this piece in eight stations.
