Bolia Scandinavia Two-seater, Fabric Stone Blue Nantes Blue

Bolia Scandinavia – the classic with a guest bed

The Scandinavia is the work of the Danish design duo Glismand & Rüdiger. Their aim was a timeless sofa with character and a story of its own. Bolia counts the series among its best-selling sofas. It is built to last: inside there is a solid wood frame, and the armrests are extra padded. The cold foam seat cushions are covered on both sides and can be turned over. A special lining and a slightly raised edge underneath stop them from sliding forward.

Scandinavia two-seater in blue fabric with sleep function

This Scandinavia two-seater is a sofa bed. It is upholstered in Bolia's Nantes fabric in the shade Stone Blue, a finely woven, smooth fabric in blue. By day, it seats two people. When guests come to stay, the fold-out mechanism turns it into a bed. This makes it a good fit for guest rooms, studies or small flats where one room has to do two jobs. The calm blue goes well with light wood, white or grey.

Seating comfort and space

The cold foam seat cushions hold their shape and give good support without letting you sink in deeply. At 42 cm, the seat height is within the usual range. The sofa is 206 cm wide and 92 cm deep, so it needs around 2.1 m of wall space. For the night, the bed folds out to the front. So keep enough floor space clear in front of the sofa for it to open fully.

Functions and additions

The sleep function is built into the sofa. A fold-out mechanism brings out the bed, and Bolia describes it as quiet, durable and easy to use. The series also includes sofas, corner sofas, an armchair, a footstool and poufs. Bolia sells the legs separately.

Caring for the fabric cover

The fabric cover is fixed in place and is cared for directly on the sofa. For everyday care, vacuuming on a low setting with the upholstery nozzle is enough. Dab stains with a damp, lint-free cloth without rubbing. For thorough cleaning, a professional upholstery cleaner is the right choice.

Why buy a pre-owned Bolia Scandinavia?

Bolia was founded in Aarhus in 2000 and has its furniture made to order in Europe. The Scandinavia is designed for long use: a solid wood frame, extra-padded armrests and reversible cushions. By its own account, Bolia also endeavours to replace upholstery, legs and cushion fillings. So a pre-owned sofa bed can stay in use for years. This piece has been inspected in eight stations.
