Bolia Noora – modular sofa with handmade details

The Noora comes from the Bolia design team and is a modular sofa that combines handmade details with a simple form. The seat and back cushions are softly padded. Beneath the seat are steel zigzag springs, topped by a cold-cure foam core with a layer of foam, duck feathers and polyester fibres. The modules come in two depths. They form straight sofas, corner sofas and versions with a chaise longue or an open end. The legs are available in oak or beech, oiled, dark oiled, white pigmented or stained black.

This Noora is a corner sofa with a blue corduroy cover. Seen from the front, the corner is on the left, and it is deep enough to stretch out your legs. It seats four people and consists of three parts. The corduroy gives the simple modular sofa texture, and the blue adds a strong splash of colour. Corduroy feels soft and looks lighter or darker depending on the light. The sofa suits large living rooms and open-plan living areas.

Seating comfort and space

The description Bolia gives of its down sofas applies to the Noora: soft, inviting and deeply comfortable. The top layer of feathers and foam gives, while the cold-cure foam core provides support. The back cushions contain a mix of foam flakes and duck feathers. With a seat height of 42 cm, you sit at the usual height. The sofa takes up a little over 3.25 m against the wall, and the corner extends 1.9 m into the room.

Elements and additions

The Noora has no adjustable functions. Bolia offers many modules: straight elements, corners, chaise longues and open ends in two depths. This means an existing Noora can be extended or reconfigured. Back cushions with a fabric cover are reversible.

Caring for the corduroy cover

Vacuum corduroy with a soft upholstery nozzle in the direction of the ribs. Dab stains with a damp, lint-free cloth, without rubbing. The cover is fixed in place; a deep clean is best left to a professional upholstery cleaner. Turn the back cushions over now and then and plump up all the cushions so that the feathers are evenly distributed. Do not place the sofa in direct sunlight or right next to a radiator.
