Bolia Cosy – taut form, soft upholstery

The Cosy by Glismand & Rüdiger is a modular sofa with a classic look. In it, Bolia combines a clearly defined upholstered frame with soft seat and back cushions. Its hallmarks are the piping along the upholstery edges and the base of solid oiled oak; the slender legs are attached to a steel frame. Back elements, corners, chaise longues and seat modules with an armrest form straight sofas or large corner solutions. The Cosy is made by hand in Europe. Bolia particularly highlights its visible crafted details.

This Cosy is a corner sofa in London Blue, a rich blue. Seen from the front, the corner is on the left, and it is deep enough to stretch out your legs. The three parts seat four people. The sofa works as the centrepiece of a living room or an open-plan living area. The blue goes well with oak, white and warm wood tones. The deep corner is a comfortable place to read or lie down.

Seating comfort and space

Bolia states a seat depth of a little over 60 cm for the Cosy. The seat height of this piece is 44 cm, which is in the usual range. The cushions combine cold-cure foam with a casing of foam flakes and feathers, with zigzag springs underneath. The sofa takes up around 3.1 m against the wall, and the corner extends 1.95 m into the room. Leave about 60 to 80 cm clear in front of it.

Elements and additions

The Cosy grows with you. Because it consists of modules, further elements from the series can be added, such as a chaise longue, a back element or the footstool. Bolia still offers the series. Bolia offers cushions in various sizes in all its upholstery fabrics, to match the sofa. The Cosy has no adjustable functions.

Caring for the fabric cover

Remove dust and crumbs regularly with the upholstery nozzle, including along the piping. Blot spills immediately with an absorbent cloth; rubbing only spreads the stain. According to Bolia, light colours fade the least, while a strong blue is more likely to fade. So do not place the sofa in blazing sun. Plump up the cushions regularly so that the feathers are evenly distributed.
