Bolia North Three-seater, Fabric Brown

Bolia North – sofa with a handmade wooden frame

The North is a design by the Danish duo Glismand & Rüdiger for Bolia, a classic sofa with a distinctive wooden frame. According to Bolia, the frame is made by hand, in oak or walnut. The cushions are filled with cold-cure foam, and the legs are made of black lacquered steel. One of its hallmarks is the striking topstitching on the armrests. The series includes a 2.5-seater, a 3-seater and a 3-seater with a chaise longue on the left or right.

North three-seater in brown fabric

This North is a three-seater with a brown fabric cover. Its width matches the 3-seater in the series, and three people sit comfortably on it. The warm brown goes with wooden floors, linen and cream tones and brings calm to the room. The sofa works as the main sofa in a living room, but also in a study or a reading corner. In everyday use, the dark shade is more forgiving of small stains than a light fabric.

Seating comfort and space

The cushions of the North are filled with cold-cure foam. Cold-cure foam is elastic and holds its shape, so the cushions keep their form even without frequent plumping. Bolia gives a seat depth of a little over 60 cm for the series. With a seat height of 45 cm, you sit at the upper end of the usual range. The sofa needs around 2.2 m against the wall and is 96 cm deep.

Elements and additions

The North has no adjustable functions. Bolia offers a matching footstool for the series, which becomes a footrest or an extra seat in front of the sofa. If you want more space to lie down, the series includes the 3-seater with a chaise longue. The North comes with a choice of fabric, wool or leather upholstery.

Caring for the fabric cover

Vacuum the cover regularly with an upholstery nozzle and dab stains with a damp, lint-free cloth, without rubbing. Do not place the sofa in direct sunlight or right next to a radiator, so that the fabric keeps its colour. Wipe the wooden frame with a slightly damp cloth and then dry it.

Why buy a pre-owned Bolia North?

Bolia comes from Aarhus, was founded in 2000 and has its furniture made to order in Europe. For the North, Bolia relies on a handmade frame of oak or walnut and on steel legs – materials that last a long time. A pre-owned North shows the details the model stands for, right down to the topstitching on the armrests. This piece has been inspected in eight stations.
