Muuto Connect – modular sofa with long lines

With the Connect, Anderssen & Voll designed a modular sofa for Muuto that can be adapted to the room and your needs with 14 different modules. The lines are long and straight, the corners sharp. Small feet under the sofa make it seem almost to float. The seat and back frames are made of wood. Sinuous springs work in the seat, topped with felt, cold foam and upholstery wadding. Metal brackets connect the modules. Muuto explicitly mentions offices, lounges and hotels as settings too.

Connect corner sofa in grey fabric

This Connect is a modular corner sofa with a grey fabric cover. It consists of three modules joined by metal brackets. If needed, the modules can be rearranged or extended with further elements. The long, straight lines suit modern living spaces as well as an office or a lounge. The grey keeps the look calm and lets coloured cushions or throws stand out.

Seating comfort and space

The Connect has balanced upholstery: sinuous springs and cold foam provide support, and a layer of wadding makes the surface soft. At 40 cm, the seat height is slightly below the usual 42 to 45 cm. The sofa is around 3.45 m wide and 1.27 m deep at its deepest point. It therefore needs a long wall or an open living area. Leave around 60 to 80 cm of walking space in front of the sofa.

Elements and additions

Muuto offers 14 modules for the Connect. These include elements with an armrest, centre sections in two lengths, corners, open ends, longue elements and ottomans in two sizes. There are also angled modules for 150 and 210 degrees and an end module for back-to-back combinations. A table module with oak veneer completes the series. The Connect is still in the range; spare parts for suitable products are available through Muuto customer service.

Caring for the fabric cover

Muuto recommends gently dabbing stains with a lint-free cloth or sponge wrung out in clean, warm water. If needed, a little washing-up liquid in the water helps; afterwards, dab with clean water. For the specific fabric, Muuto refers to the fabric manufacturer’s care instructions. For everyday care, vacuum the cover regularly with the upholstery nozzle.
