About the model
Walter Knoll Grand Suite – upholstery and saddle leather
Grand Suite is a modular sofa programme designed by the studio EOOS for Walter Knoll. It consists of a corner unit and various middle and end units that can be combined into sofas, corner sofas or chaises longues. The horizontal line of the upholstery flows seamlessly into the armrest and the shelf board; the boards are covered in saddle leather. The sofa rests on a black-lacquered beech base, and generous, soft cushions define the seating comfort. All covers are removable.
Grand Suite three-seater in beige fabric – floor model
This three-seater offers three seats with loose back cushions and small cushions in the light beige fabric Garbo 7737 Pearl. At each end there is a board in black Paco 1425 leather that serves as both armrest and shelf. The piece was on display and has never been used in a home. At 3.73 m wide, it suits a spacious living room or open-plan space.
Why a Walter Knoll Grand Suite floor model?
Walter Knoll's roots go back to 1865, when Wilhelm Knoll opened a leather shop. Grand Suite stands for what the brand itself names: precise lines, honest craftsmanship, fine materials. Saddle leather, a beech base and removable covers are made for long use. As a floor model, this Grand Suite comes from a display, not from a household. This piece has been inspected in eight stations.

Die Wurzeln von Walter Knoll reichen bis 1865 zurück, als Wilhelm Knoll in Stuttgart ein Ledergeschäft eröffnete. Sein Sohn Walter gründete 1925 ein eigenes Unternehmen, das 1927 Wohnungen von Mies van der Rohe in der Stuttgarter Weissenhofsiedlung einrichtete. Heute sitzt die Firma in Herrenberg. Seit 1997 entwirft das Wiener Büro EOOS viele Modelle, etwa die Sofalandschaft Living Landscape, deren End- und Eckelemente sich um 90 Grad drehen lassen, Jaan Living mit federgefüllten Polstern und Prime Time.
