About the model
De Sede DS-247 – sofa system with leather latticework
Gordon Guillaumier designed the DS-247 for De Sede, and it was launched in 2011. De Sede describes it as a sofa system with a clear, modular form that adapts to different situations in life: relaxing, reading, talking or hosting guests. The range includes different sofa depths and numerous add-on elements. A typical detail is the back cushions, whose side walls are framed with leather latticework. The feet come visible or concealed, the seating comfort soft or classically firmer.
DS-247 three-seater in grey fabric
This DS-247 is a three-seater with a grey fabric cover and dark piping along the edges. Three loose seat cushions and three back cushions sit in a cubic body with wide, straight armrests; the side walls of the back cushions feature dark leather latticework. At 275 cm wide, the sofa offers plenty of room for three people and works as a calm centrepiece in a large living room.
Why buy a pre-owned De Sede DS-247?
De Sede goes back to an upholstery workshop founded by Ernst Lüthy in 1962; the manufacturer is known for handcrafted upholstered furniture, and its models carry numbers instead of names. The DS-247 shows the clear, homely side of the company. Loose cushions and a simple body make the sofa easy to live with, while the leather detail gives it character. This piece has been inspected in eight stations.

Saugen Sie den Stoff regelmäßig mit der Polsterdüse ab und schütteln Sie die losen Kissen auf. Frische Flecken tupfen Sie mit einem feuchten Tuch ab, ohne zu reiben. Das Lederflechtwerk wischen Sie nur nebelfeucht ab und pflegen es gelegentlich mit einem Lederpflegemittel.

De Sede geht auf eine kleine Polsterei zurück, die Ernst Lüthy 1962 im Schweizer Klingnau gründete; 1965 wurde daraus die de Sede AG. Bekannt ist die Manufaktur für Ledermöbel in Handarbeit, die Modelle tragen Nummern. Für das DS-47 des hauseigenen Designteams verarbeitet de Sede seit 1976 dickes Nackenleder (NECK), beim DS-167 von Hugo de Ruiter lässt sich die Rückenlehne rund um die Sitzfläche verschieben. Das DS-102 von Mathias Hoffmann stammt von 1998.
