About the model
B&B Italia Tufty Too – the Tufty Time in a straight line
With the Tufty Too, Patricia Urquiola took one of her most successful designs for B&B Italia a step further: the Tufty Time. The Tufty Too gives the family a more linear form while remaining soft and comfortable. This sofa is modular too: seat and corner elements, backrests and footstools can be combined into a sofa of your own. A tubular steel frame supports padding made of cold-moulded polyurethane foam. The seams on the cover come tone-on-tone or contrasting, so they become a pattern in their own right.
Tufty Too three-seater in purple fabric
This Tufty Too is a three-seater with a purple fabric cover and consists of two parts. The strong colour and soft upholstery make it an eye-catcher, while the straight line keeps it calm. With its low seating position, it suits a living room where people like to lean back. It adds colour to rooms with understated furnishings. Against grey, white and light wood, the purple creates a clear contrast.
Seating comfort and space
The manufacturer's description of the Tufty Too speaks of a noticeably soft seating feel. The back cushions are filled with down and polyester fibre, and the body is padded with cold-cure foam. With a seat height of 36 cm, you sit noticeably lower than usual, more like on a lounge sofa; getting up takes a little more momentum. The sofa takes up around 2.9 m against the wall and is 1.1 m deep.
Elements and additions
The Tufty Too has no adjustable functions. The modular system comprises seat and corner elements, backrests and footstools, which form straight sofas and corners. According to specialist retailers, scatter cushions are not part of the sofa and are ordered separately. A B&B Italia store or authorised dealer can clarify whether an existing Tufty Too can still be extended today.
Caring for the fabric cover
The fabric cover of the Tufty Too is easy to remove. The care instructions for the fabric show how it should be cleaned; if they are unknown, B&B Italia recommends dry cleaning. For everyday care, vacuum the fabric with a soft upholstery nozzle, including along the seams. Blot stains straight away with an absorbent cloth, without rubbing.
Why buy a pre-owned B&B Italia Tufty Too?
B&B Italia was founded in 1966 by Piero Ambrogio Busnelli and introduced cold-moulded polyurethane foam to furniture making. On the Tufty Too, the fabric cover is easy to remove – a practical point in everyday life with a coloured fabric. The modular principle comes from the Tufty Time, one of the manufacturer's most enduring successes. This piece has been inspected in eight stations.
