About the model
B&B Italia Solo – a sofa by Antonio Citterio
The Solo is a design by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia. Citterio was born in Meda in 1950 and received the Compasso d'Oro in 1987 and 1994. He has designed numerous sofas for the manufacturer, including the Charles, Michel and Ray. The Solo came in several versions: as a two-seater, as a larger straight sofa and as a corner sofa made up of several elements. There was also a matching footstool. It was upholstered in fabric or leather.
Solo two-seater in grey leather
This Solo is a two-seater with a grey leather cover. The muted grey can be combined with light and dark floors alike and goes with wood, stone and metal. As a two-seater, the Solo suits a smaller living room or a study, or works as a second sofa opposite a larger seating group. Leather is easy to wipe clean in everyday use. Cushions and throws in strong colours easily add accents against the grey.
Seating comfort and space
With a seat height of 42 cm, the Solo is in the usual range. Leather feels cool at first and quickly takes on body warmth. The two-seater needs around 2.2 m against the wall and is 100 cm deep. This means it also fits into a smaller living room or study. Leave about 60 to 80 cm of walking space clear in front of the sofa.

The Solo has no adjustable parts. Known versions include straight sofas, corner sofas made up of several elements and a matching footstool. The Solo is no longer listed on the current B&B Italia website. A B&B Italia store or authorised dealer can check whether reupholstery or spare parts are possible, based on the model name and article number.
Caring for the leather cover
Remove dust with a soft, dry cloth and dab stains straight away with a slightly damp cloth. Once or twice a year, a suitable care product keeps the leather supple. Direct sunlight and the heat of radiators dry leather out and should be avoided. B&B Italia offers its own care kit for its leathers through specialist retailers.

In 1966, Coronado by Afra and Tobia Scarpa combined an iron frame with cold-moulded polyurethane foam, which B&B Italia introduced to the furniture industry.
