With Jaan Living, generous upholstered surfaces spread out over a delicate frame as if they were floating. The design studio EOOS created the range for Walter Knoll, balancing lightness and weight. According to the manufacturer, in the casual upholstery style the feather filling underlines the relaxed look of the leather. Underneath, a wooden structure with sinuous springs supports the cushions, and the feet are made of aluminium. One special feature is the back: shelf boards in glass or saddle leather turn it into a second front.

This Jaan Living is a corner sofa made up of two elements, with a brown leather cover in a warm cognac shade. Seen from the front, the corner is on the left, and that is where you stretch out your legs. It seats four people. The sofa suits a living room used for reading, watching TV and welcoming visitors. The warm brown goes well with both light and dark wooden floors and with fabrics in natural tones.

Seating comfort and space

The seat cushions rest on sinuous springs. Above these, depending on the version, lies chambered feather filling with a cold foam core or firm cold foam. Depending on the model, the seat depth is just under 70 or just under 80 cm, so the seat is fairly deep. With a seat height of 43 cm, the sofa is within the usual range. The corner sofa needs around 2.4 m of wall space and around 1.7 m of depth on the corner side. Leave 60 to 80 cm of walking space clear in front of it.

Elements and additions

Besides the standalone sofa, chaise longue and add-on sofa, Jaan Living includes footstools, table elements and shelf boards. On model 782 the boards sit at the back; on the deeper model 783 they are at the side. In addition, there are loose comfort and back cushions. The Jaan family also includes the Jaan 780 and 781 armchairs and side tables with black glass tops. Walter Knoll still offers the range.

Caring for the leather cover

Dust the leather regularly with a soft cloth. Soak up spills immediately with a dry terry towel or kitchen roll, without rubbing. Wipe away minor marks with a damp, not wet, cloth. Walter Knoll recommends cleaning and caring for leather with a leather care product at least once a year. Keep the sofa away from radiators and strong sunlight. The covers are removable.

According to the manufacturer, glides and table elements are still available. This piece has been inspected in eight stations.
