Rolf Benz describes the range as an invitation to lounge and relax. Its many individual elements can be combined into classic sofa groupings as well as free-standing islands in the room. The Mio is built using classic upholstery techniques: the seat rests on a wooden inner frame with spring core suspension. On top of this is polyurethane foam, covered by a chambered topper with a down-like feel, made of foam sticks and polyester fibres. Nubuck is dyed right through and finely buffed on the surface, which gives it a velvety, warm feel. Run your hand over it and light and dark shades alternate – Rolf Benz calls this the writing effect. According to the manufacturer, the armchair complements the Mio ensemble. However, it works just as well as a reading spot next to a different sofa or as a stand-alone armchair in a study. The spring core gives noticeably when you sit down, and the down-like topper makes the surface soft. With an overall height of 70 cm, the backrest supports your back, not your head. The armchair takes up 96 by 96 cm, just under one square metre. Many elements were also available in an extra-deep version, with low or high side sections. There were also piped cushions in several sizes, including a back cushion with a bolster roll. The Mio is no longer listed on the current Rolf Benz website. Dab up spills straight away with an absorbent cloth, without rubbing. Rolf Benz recommends caring for leather at least every six months; use a product made specifically for nubuck.
