De Sede calls it a seating island with a sliding backrest. The backrest can be moved freely around the seat; a plastic plate bends into the necessary curves as you do so. The seat depth changes depending on its position. It was on display and has never been used in a home. The sofa is unusually deep and offers plenty of room for leaning back, stretching out and lying down. Because the backrest can be moved, you can also place it freely in the room and use it from several sides. The seat feels soft but supportive. With a seat height of 40 cm, you sit slightly lower than usual. The sofa is two metres wide and 1.5 m deep, so it needs roughly the floor space of a small bed.
