It is known by several names, such as La Mamma or Big Mama. The rounded shape recalls ancient fertility statues; B\u0026amp;B Italia speaks of a large, comfortable mother's womb. A spherical footstool is tied to the armchair by a cord: the image of a woman with a ball and chain. With this, Pesce wanted to draw attention to the situation of women. It belongs to the Moule transforming series, which Roland Meyer-Brühl designed and Brühl has been making since 2003. Brühl describes the armchair with a swivel seat too: swung 90 degrees forwards, the lowered armrest serves as a footrest. The backrest and headrest can then be adjusted separately. It was on display in a showroom and was never used in a home. As a single seat, it complements a Moule sofa or stands on its own in a reading or work corner. The neutral grey goes with almost any sofa colour, whether fabric or leather. In a bedroom or guest room, too, it makes a comfortable reading spot. Rolf Benz describes the range as an invitation to lounge and relax. Its many individual elements can be combined into classic sofa groupings as well as free-standing islands in the room. The Mio is built using classic upholstery techniques: the seat rests on a wooden inner frame with spring core suspension. On top of this is polyurethane foam, covered by a chambered topper with a down-like feel, made of foam sticks and polyester fibres.
